Samsung Engineering, the construction arm of Samsung Group, said yesterday it won an $800 million order to develop a gas field in Algeria.

The company said it signed a contract with Groupement Timimoun, a joint venture of Algeria’s Sonatrach, France’s Total and Spain’s Cepsa, for the Timimoun Field Development project.

Samsung Engineering will need to build a central processing facility and related pipelines for the Timimoun field located some 800 kilometers (262 miles) south of Algiers .

It aims to complete the work by April 2017.

Samsung Engineering will do the project on a turn-key basis.
