Korean Air Lines ranks No. 10 globally for on-time arrivals

Korean Air Lines (KAL), the nation’s largest air carrier, is the world’s No. 10 airline for arriving on time, according to FlightStats, an online global flight and airport information service provider.

The U.S.-based company collected real-time flight status information on more than 82 percent of scheduled passenger flights operated by the top 200 airlines worldwide. Since 2009, it has given awards to airlines with the best records for on-time arrivals.

According to FlightStats, which tracked 95 percent of KAL’s 158,750 flights last year, the air carrier had on-time arrivals for 83.47 percent of its flights, enough to rank 10th among major international airlines.

But for on-time departures, the Hanjin Group affiliate was even better, ranking No. 4 with 90.04 percent.

Japan Airlines was No. 1 in both categories with 88.94 percent on-time arrivals and 93.11 percent on-time departures.
