New LG U+ data center is set to be finished as scheduled

The nation’s No. 3 mobile carrier LG U+ said yesterday that the construction of its Internet Data Center (IDC) in Pyeongchon, Gyeonggi, is going smoothly and is expected to be completed in July 2015.

The U+ Pyeongchon IDC will be Asia’s largest data center, intended to position Korea as the hub for increasing data traffic in Asia.

“As we are constructing the largest in Asia and the best in the world data center, we will attract leading global companies that need a base in the region,” an LG U+ spokesman said.
