The 55-year-old Canadian politician is expected to arrive in the country today and stay until tomorrow, the Blue House said yesterday in a press release.
At the summit scheduled for tomorrow, Park and Harper are slated to discuss upgrading bilateral relations between their respective nations.
It is the second summit for the two leaders since they had bilateral talks on the sidelines of the Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC) summit last year in Bali, the Blue House said.
At the upcoming summit, Park plans to share her opinions on a wide range of issues, including trade, investment, energy and resources, scientific technology, and development in Canadian forests, according to the Blue House’s statement.
Diplomatic ties between South Korea and Canada were established in 1963. Approximately 230,000 South Korean nationals reside in Canada.
