Altteul phones to offer service that protects customers’ data

The Ministry of Science, ICT and Future Planning today started requiring that all 25 altteul phone mobile service providers offer the M-Safer protection service, which protects clients from having their names and personal information stolen and used illegally for financial crimes. The service used to be only available through the three telecom giants. From now on, anyone who subscribes to an altteul phone mobile service will receive a text message, which will enable them to check whether their information was illegally used or not. Those whose information was stolen can report it to each service provider, and get exempted from any financial transactions made during the illegal activity. Mobile phone owners can also check whether their information is safe at the service’s website: www.msafer.or.kr.
