LG Group gives special honor to 46 employees for research
LG Group said yesterday it appointed 46 employees who helped develop new technologies as executive-level researchers.The employees were honored for their contributions to the group’s future growth engines such as mobile technology, electric car batteries and energy solutions.
They include a team of researchers at LG Chem that developed the world’s first flexible cable-type lithium-ion battery, an LG Electronics team that developed a high-efficiency solar-power module and an LG Display team that developed curved plastic OLED panels.
LG Group chairman Koo Bon-moo encouraged them to “have pride as the initiators for the group to lead the market,” the group said in a statement.
