Siemens, a global engineering and electronics company based in Germany, said yesterday it held its first “Siemens Green School” program at Global Village School in Guro District, western Seoul.
The program, in collaboration with the Kids & Future Foundation, aims to nurture future leaders in environmental science by having a group of Siemens employees, instructors and college student volunteers visit elementary schools.
Global Village School, the first beneficiary of the Siemens Green School program, mostly serves students from multicultural backgrounds.
“Providing the right environmental education to children, the leaders of tomorrow, is a necessary investment for a better future,” said Kim Jong-kap, chairman and chief executive of Siemens in Seoul. “As a good corporate citizen, Siemens will continue to actively support environment and science education to ensure that children become more interested in environmental issues.”
