Xperia Z Ultra phablet wins Red Dot design award for Sony
Sony’s 6.4-inch phablet, Xperia Z Ultra, won the Best of the Best award from the 2014 Red Dot Design Awards, according to Sony Korea yesterday.There were 4,815 entries from 53 countries at the prestigious design competition and 72 products were awarded Best of the Best awards. Sony’s lens-style QX cameras also won, the company said.
Sony won 12 smaller Red Dot awards, including for the Vaio Fit 13A and Vaio Tap 11 laptop computers. Its latest smart wrist watch, SmartWatch 2, won the Honorable Mention award. The top 1.5 percent of the entry received Red Dot awards this year.
