Science Ministry to host OECD ministerial level meeting

The Ministry of Science, ICT and Future Planning announced yesterday it will host the Organization for Economic Cooperation and Development (OECD) Committee For Science and Technological Policy at Ministerial Level meeting in Daejeon in October next year. Under a theme of creating a common future through science, technology and innovation, the meeting will bring together about 300 science ministers and representatives from 34 OECD countries and 15 observer countries, including China, Brazil and India.

The committee will discuss the role of science and technology in tackling global challenges such as world economy, depletion of natural resources and environmental pollution.

The science ministerial-level meeting will be the first in 11 years.
