CJ Korea Express first to use containers for steel coil onlyCJ Korea Express, the nation’s largest ground shipper, said yesterday it has become the first local company to use containers designed solely to transport steel coil products.
The affiliate of CJ Group said that the coil-only container is 30 percent thicker than a normal container and is designed as cradle the coil’s shape to increase ease of shipping.
The company said that the coil containers reduce shipping time up to 30 percent, which means workers will take only five to 10 minutes to load steel coils to the containers.
CJ Korea Express said that it currently uses 350 coil containers, but will increase the number as demand rises.
