April 16: The Chinese restaurant Yeohyang is presenting a special dinner on April 16 created by award-winning chef Jang Lip-hwa. The dinner, called Canton Memories 2014, will feature braised sea cucumber, scallops and bamboo with oyster sauce, fried abalone with garlic sauce, Cantonese-style beef fillet and stir-fried lobster with chili sauce. The highlight will be “Buddha Jumps Over the Wall” with Cordyceps mushrooms. “Buddha Jumps Over the Wall” is a traditional Chinese dish made of a mixture of fine ingredients, such as black-bone silky fowl, shark’s fin and pine mushrooms. Its taste is so good that even Buddha couldn’t resist it, or so the legend goes.

Guests can also enjoy unlimited wine.

The dinner is from 6 p.m. to 10 p.m. and is priced at 180,000 won ($168) per person inclusive of taxes and service charges.

Millennium Seoul Hilton

Through April: Il Ponte, the Italian trattoria, will host a monthlong promotion celebrating the cuisine of Trentino Alto Adige. Throughout the month of April, hotel guests will be able to choose from a special menu of northern Italian delights, in addition to Il Ponte’s always-popular menu.

Trentino Alto Adige is located in northern Italy along the borders with Austria and Switzerland. The cuisine of this picturesque area is highly influenced by local products such as salami, various cheeses, goulash, polenta and barley.

The Trentino Alto Adige set menu will include roll of beef carpaccio with parmesan cheese and basil, balsamic, lemon and extra virgin olive oil dressing; barley and white bean cream soup; ravioli with chicken and more. The five-course is priced at 87,000 won per person. Taxes and service charges are included in the prices.

Through April: Japanese restaurant Murasaki presents a seasonal menu with estuary oysters.

Estuary oysters are native to Seomjin River, North Jeolla, where fresh water meets salt water. Also called the “cherry blossom oyster” because it matures during the cherry blossom season, the oyster is six times larger than a sea oyster and considered a spring delicacy.

Three different dishes will be prepared using the jumbo oysters. You can have your oyster grilled, roasted or steamed. The price is 48,000 won including taxes and service charges.

Sheraton Seoul D Cube City Hotel

Through August: Sheraton Seoul D Cube City Hotel presents the most loved summer desserts in Korea, bingsu or shaved ice flakes.

The Sheraton Splash will be served at the Lobby Lounge with boiled adzuki beans, seasonal fruits, macarons, apple jelly and condensed milk.

Guests staying at the hotel can also order Sheraton Splashdes in their rooms. It is also available at the Deli on the basement floor.

The Sheraton Splash is available throughout the summer for 22,000 won. The price includes taxes.

Ongoing: The Grand Hyatt Seoul presents afternoon tea sets at the lobby lounge.

Every day from 2 p.m. to 5 p.m. coffee or tea will be served along with treats selected by pastry chef Beat Loeffel.

The afternoon tea set offers desserts such as scones, eclairs and macaroons. Sandwiches will have Korean elements such as kimchi and bulgogi (marinated beef) as fillings. The tea set is 60,000 won for two, which includes taxes.
