Ryu to start against Giants after 2nd win

Ryu Hyun-jin of the Los Angeles Dodgers, who picked up his second win of the season with seven shutout innings against the Arizona Diamondbacks on Friday local time, will start an away game against the San Francisco Giants on Friday, Korean time.

Before Sunday’s game against the D-Backs, Dodgers’ manager Don Mattingly said the 27-year-old will start the last of a three-game series against the Giants beginning Tuesday after Josh Beckett and Paul Maholm.

In the Dodgers’ home opener against the Giants on April 5, Ryu allowed eight runs in two innings, the shortest and the worst outing in his Major League Baseball career.

But Ryu has been outstanding in away games. He didn’t allow a run in 19 innings in three games this season.

The Giants will start lefty Madison Bumgarner who is 2-0 with an ERA of 3.31.
