SK completes construction of Singapore petrochemical plant

SK Engineering and Construction, the country’s eighth-largest builder, said yesterday it completed the Jurong Aromatic Complex (JAC) project in Singapore after 28 months.

The JAC Project can produce 3.86 million tons of petrochemical products in a year. SK E&C and group affiliates SK Petrochemical and SK Gas also participated in the project, injecting a total of $2.44 billion.

SK E&C said this project was its first “total solution provider” business that involved its affiliates. While SK E&C managed engineering, procurement and construction for the project, SK Petrochemical and SK Gas promised to supply materials and purchase products from the plant.
