Ryu to face Phillies as Kershaw still injured

Ryu Hyun-jin of the Los Angeles Dodgers will face the Philadelphia Phillies on Tuesday local time, MLB.com said on its official website yesterday.

As ace Clayton Kershaw is still sidelined with an injury, Ryu has been managing his role with an impressive start of 3-1 with an ERA of 1.93 in five games. Last season, Ryu allowed two runs in seven innings against the Phillies in a no-decision game. The question is whether Ryu has recovered enough of his stamina. He threw 112 pitches against the San Francisco Giants last week in seven innings of the team’s 2-1 victory.
