Chemical company BASF opens headquarters in Seoul

BASF, a chemical company based in Germany, said yesterday that it has established a global sales office for its organic electronics business in Seoul in a bid to build up a stronger presence in the electronics market here and throughout the Asia-Pacific region.

The company’s organic electronics business is focused on developing materials for OLEDs (organic light emitting diodes) for displays and lighting as well as OFETs (organic field-effect transistors) for new electronic applications such as flexible display backplanes, the company said in a statement.
