Volvo Construction finishes building new testing center

Volvo Construction Equipment Korea said yesterday that it has completed its testing and development center in Hapcheon County, South Gyeongsang, after a year of building.
The Korean unit of the Swedish construction equipment maker said that the complex has 10 core facilities to test new products. So far, 14 billion won ($13 million) has been invested in the center but the company hopes to invest an additional 4 billion won by 2016 to expand facilities.
Meanwhile, Volvo Trucks Korea also opened its multiplex distribution center yesterday near Pyeongtaek port in Gyeonggi. The company, which sells heavy-duty trucks, built the center in partnership with logistics firm Bear Logi Korea.
The new center is 47,524 square meters, or 511,544 square feet, five times bigger than its existing distribution center located in Changwon, South Gyeongsang.
