Asiana has semi-weekly flights to Barcelona until mid-June

Asiana Airlines, the nation’s second-largest flag carrier, said Tuesday it is operating a flight from Incheon International Airport to Barcelona.

The affiliate of Kumho Asiana Group said it is the only airline offering a direct flight from Korea to Spain’s second-largest city.

It will fly the route Tuesday and Friday until June 20 with a 295-seat B77 aircraft.

The flight leaves Korea at 10 a.m. and the returning flight from Spain leaves at 6:20 p.m. local time.

Asiana said Barcelona has become a popular tourist destination among Koreans due to a well-known Korean reality TV show titled, “Grandfathers Over Flowers.”

The company expects the city will attract more visitors as vacation season draws near.
