Daewoo E&C wins order to build degassing plant in Iraq

Daewoo Engineering and Construction, Korea’s third-largest builder by capacity, said yesterday it won a $545.8 million order to build a degassing plant in southern Iraq.
The company said that it won part of Zubair Degassing Station project, which aims to upgrade existing facilities. The project was issued by ENI Iraq BV, a consortium that includes Korea Gas. Daewoo E&C will be responsible for constructing a degassing station that can handle 100,000 barrels per day.
A degassing plant is a facility that extracts crude oil from natural gas, sand and other sediments to make gasoline and diesel after refinement.
