The Trade Ministry and Korea Trade-Investment Promotion Agency yesterday invited foreign government organizations and builders to Seoul for the annual Global Project Plaza, a business-to-business forum for local builders and small-sized parts suppliers, at Lotte Hotel in Jamsil, southeastern Seoul.
About 600 foreign officials from 40 countries brought about 100 infrastructure and plant building projects, worth about $132 billion, for which they are seeking suitable Korean partners. Large-size government-led projects, including a Malaysian metropolitan rapid transit system project worth $8 billion and a $4.5 billion petrochemical plant project in Thailand, held briefing sessions yesterday.
Today, the forum will host one-on-one business consulting sessions with local companies, while small and midsize export companies receive separate consulting.
The forum ends today. Korea hopes to obtain orders worth $70 billion this year.
