GS Group Chairman Huh Chang-soo urged a “safety first” culture as Korea’s eighth-largest conglomerate yesterday held what it called a Value Creation Forum to exchange management ideas.

At the event, Huh, who also leads the Federation of Korean Industries, a business group representing conglomerates, advised executives to make sure their safety plans are well prepared will be effective if an accident occurs.

Huh then inspected GS Donghae Electric Power’s construction progress on a coal thermal power plant in Donghae, Gangwon, which is expected to be completed by June 2016. The Chairman said that safety is more important than the completion date.
