Ikea Korea, the local unit of the Sweden-based home furnishing company, said yesterday that it will disclose the price of some Ikea products that will be sold in the country during an event that will be held from May 30 to Aug. 22.
It is the first time that the company will reveal its prices to local consumers ahead of the opening of its first store in Gwangmyeong, Gyeonggi, in December. The company said it will open its second story room called “Hej Home! myhome” in Times Square mall in Yeongdeungpo, western Seoul.
Visitors will get to see some of the home furnishings offered by Ikea for living rooms, bedrooms, laundry rooms, offices, kitchens and gardens. Ikea Korea opened its first story room at a gallery in Garosugil, southern Seoul, where the company introduced the brand concept and story.
“Before the opening of the Ikea Gwangmyeong store at the end of this year, we are glad to offer a chance for consumers in Korea to experience the feel of the Ikea store in advance through a variety of Ikea home furnishing solutions and displays,” said Andre Schmidtgall, country retail manager of Ikea Korea.
