LG Group buys company that makes display driver ICs

LG said it will be acquiring Silicon Works, a company specializing in display driver ICs (DDIs), for 86.5 billion won ($84.4 million).

Silicon Work is the nation’s largest supplier of DDIs, which turn on the displays on TVs, smartphones or tablet computers by sending signals to the panels.
