Oriental Brewery wins award at Australian beer competition
Oriental Brewery, the country’s leading beer maker, said yesterday that it has won the Champion Large International Brewery award at the Australian International Beer Awards (AIBA).According to the company, 294 beer manufacturers from 31 countries participated in the event. The AIBA is in its 22nd year and is considered one of the top three events along with the U.S.’s Beer World Cup and the European Beer Star.
A group of judges from around the world conducted blind tests to pick the 19 best beers based on a list of criteria.Cass Fresh and OB Golden Lager also received top awards in the American-style lager beer category. The AIBA gives away six trophies including the one OB received based on the breweries’ yearly performance.
