Samsung sees huge increase in sales of dehumidifiers
Sales of Samsung Electronics’ dehumidifiers jumped six times in the first five months of this year compared with the same period last year, the company said yesterday.Samsung Electronics did not give the exact sales figures but said the sales accounted for 60 percent of all dehumidifiers sold in Korea in the January-May period.
Samsung attributed the growth to the popularity of an energy-saving inverter dehumidifier the company began selling in March. The new product requires 36 percent less electricity than the company’s other dehumidifiers, it said.
