LG Display wins top honor for curved OLED televisions
LG Display won the Best in Show award from the Society for Information Display on Wednesday, the company said yesterday.The award, given at the display industry group’s conference in San Diego, was presented to LG for the company’s curved displays featured on the ultra high-definition curved OLED TV series by LG Electronics, LG Display said.
It is the Korean company’s third award at the 2014 SID after it won a Gold Award in the display application of the year category for LG Electronics’ G Flex smartphone, which featured LG Display’s 6-inch, flexible plastic OLED screen, and a Silver Award in the display of the year category for its curved OLED TV.
LG Display also won the Best in Show award at the 2012 SID for the world’s first OLED TV.
