Rice ritual

Management officials at Changdeok Palace in Jung District, central Seoul, plant rice inside the palace to demonstrate the Joseon Dynasty (1392-1910) custom in which kings cultivated a rice paddy to check if the year’s weather was satisfactory enough for citizens to plant their crops. [NEWS1]
