Asiana Airport using flexible conveyor belts at Incheon
Asiana Airport, an affiliate of Kumho Asiana Group which provides ground, cargo and fueling services, said yesterday that it became the first company in Korea to operate a flexible conveyor belt loader (FCBL).The company said that it started using the FCBL to load cargo at Incheon International Airport.
A worker can change the height and shape of the FCBL to better load cargo onto an aircraft from the ground depending on aircraft model.
The FCBL is commonly-used in some European airports, but Korean ground service operators have been using fixed conveyor belt loaders.
The company said that the FCBL will increase the accuracy of shipment time and the safety of cargo.
