Lotte Shopping shareholders approve new president

Lotte Shopping said yesterday that Lee Won-joon was officially appointed as its new president at a shareholders’ meeting at the company’s human resource development academy building in Yeongdeungpo, western Seoul.

The appointment comes almost two months after Lee was named president of Lotte Shopping on April 23 by the board of directors.

Although he wasn’t officially appointed until yesterday, Lee has been filling in the vacant position after Shin Heon resigned following allegations that he received bribes from suppliers when he was in charge of Lotte Homeshopping.

According to the company, Lee, who previously was chief executive of Lotte Duty Free, has been focusing on ethics and on-site business management.
