Longtime Giants second baseman retires

Legendary Lotte Giants second baseman Cho Sung-hwan has declared his retirement yesterday. The 38-year-old recently told the club that he will wrap up his 16-year career. Cho has been with the Giants since joining the KBO in 1999, hit .284 with 874 hits and 44 home runs in 1,032 games.

Cho, who had been mostly spending his time in the Futures League, said this is the right time to retire and said he will soon start working as a player analyst for the club.
