LG CNS, Uzbek authorities sign on e-government project

LG CNS, an IT affiliate of LG Group, said yesterday it has agreed with the Uzbekistan government to jointly build an e-government system for the Central Asian nation.

The MoU to launch a “joint venture” was signed on Tuesday in Uzbekistan. Representatives of LG CNS, including its President Kim Dae-hoon, were there accompanying President Park Geun-hye during her ongoing visit to Central Asia.

The MoU is a joint venture that will work on a 28-point e-government project beginning next year, including establishing a public database and building a state data center.

Khurshid Mirzakhidov, Uzbekistan’s chairman of the State Committee for Communication, Informatization and Telecommunication Technologies of, said his government will try to develop the joint venture into a leading IT service provision in Central Asia.
