20 Choice cancelled for this yearCable channel Mnet’s annual summer season music awards ceremony “20’s Choice,” will not be held this year, according to an exclusive report by Ilgan Sports, an affiliate of Korea JoongAng Daily yesterday.
“Due to internal issues such as the year of 2014 coinciding with our live music program ‘M! Countdown’’’s 10th anniversary, we decided not to hold the ‘20’s Choice.’ It is not a complete abolition of the festival, but will be held next year,” said CJ E&M, an entertainment company that runs Mnet.
The ‘20’s Choice,’ festival emerged as one of the youngest and trendiest music awards in Korea with its top-notch lineup of not only pop stars but also glittering actors of Korea. Also, the organizers have always put their greatest effort into renovating hotels’ pools to put together a cool and one-of-a-kind stage.
“At the earliest in next month and at the latest in August, viewers will be able to meet the most grand show of ‘M! Countdown,’’s 10th anniversary celebration,” added CJ E&M.
