LS Group, the nation’s 16th-largest conglomerate, said that it signed a strategic agreement with Uzavtosanoat, a state automotive company, to further expand business in Uzbekistan.
Following President Park Geun-hye’s state visit to Uzbekistan, LS Group Chairman Koo Ja-yeol, who is part of the president’s economic delegate, met Uzbek Deputy Prime Minister Ulugbek Rozukulov and signed a deal in Tashkent on Wednesday.
LS Mtron, the tractor manufacturer, signed a $500 million deal in December with state-run ASI to supply 2,500 tractors. LS Group said that agreement will generate $500 million because it can also export its cable, smart grid and copper refining businesses.
