Sweet history
The National Palace Museum of Korea is offering a cooking class to give citizens the chance to make desserts enjoyed in the Joseon Dynasty (1392-1910). Clockwise from top left: yakgwa, a type of cookie; gyuasang, a bun shaped like a sea horse; yullan, or grilled fruit; and ddeoksudan, rice cake in a bowl of honey water. Today and tomorrow’s classes are full, but the museum plans to have more sessions next year. Provided by the museum
