Sung picked to present TV debateSinger Sung Si-kyung will host a televised college debate competition from next month, according to an official from cable network tvN yesterday.
Now in its fifth edition, “TVN Campus Debate Battle” has featured top-level debate teams from universities in Korea. And a few years ago, the production team also invited exclusive debaters from international colleges such as Harvard University, Macquarie University and Peking University.
“Sung’s discerning eyes and his skills as an MC were the things that made us choose him as the host,” said the tvN production team through a press release yesterday. Since last year, Sung has been hosting JTBC late-night talk show “Witch Hunt.”
In the new season, the debate show will come up with different topics each week, using the perspectives of university students to solve social problems. Any undergraduate or graduate students can apply for the debate until June 30 via the official website. The best speaker will be given 20 million won ($19,638).
