Toray Chemical wants to reach $1.9 billion in sales by 2020
Toray Chemical, the Korean affiliate of Japanese chemical group Toray, announced yesterday that it wants to achieve sales of 2 trillion won ($1.9 billion) and operating profit of 150 billion won by 2020 by investing 237 billion won. The company last year had sales of 1.03 trillion won and operating profit of 28.7 billion won.Earlier this year, Toray Group acquired Woongjin Chemical and changed its name to Toray Chemical in March. The company said it will focus on its textile business as well as expanding its filtering and film businesses as it expects more cooperation with Toray Group which has eight affiliates in Korea.
