Asiana Airlines, Asan sign agreement on medical tourism

Asiana Airlines, the nation’s second-largest carrier, said yesterday it has signed a deal with Asan Medical Center in Seoul to boost medical tourism. Starting next month, Asiana will offer discount fares to foreign passengers who get checkups at the medical center. The center will also give discounts to foreigners who arrive in Korea via Asiana flights.

Asiana has been pushing aggressively to boost medical tourism and signing MOUs with other medical centers in Korea. According to data from the Korea Tourism Organization, a total of 211,218 foreigners visited Korea last year for medical reasons, 500,000 more than a a year earlier.
