Mercedes-Benz C-Class, Minis roll on Hankook run-flat tires
Hankook Tire, Korea’s largest tiremaker, said yesterday it has started supplying its run-flat tires, designed to deflate only minimally when punctured, to Mercedes-Benz C-Class and BMW Group’s new Mini models. The company said its original equipment tires supplied to German automakers are a run-flat version of the Ventus S1 evo2 tires. Hankook said that the product is its third generation of run-flat tires, which reduce rolling resistance and boost fuel efficiency by upgrading heat control.
Hankook said that it expects that use of such tires will expand in the near future and wants to build a strong relationship with premium auto brands.
