Passengers board a red bus yesterday near Sadang Station in Dongjak District, southern Seoul. Red buses that run between Seoul and surrounding cities in Gyeonggi will be prohibited from taking standing passengers starting today. Intercity buses used to accept standees, though the practice is illegal as all passengers are required to fasten their seat belts on the expressways. City governments and bus operators in Gyeonggi have expanded the number of buses primarily during commuting hours, but many worry it will only worsen traffic conditions during that time.[NEWS1]
