Technology innovation lab for start-ups opens in Incheon

An open lab called Internet of Things DIY Center opened yesterday at Songdo IT Industrial Complex in the Incheon Free Economic Zone to help tech entrepreneurs and small start-ups that are interested in developing software platforms and smart devices that can be automatically connected via IoT technology.

The lab, located at the National IT Industry Promotion Agency’s Songdo branch, is equipped with 3-D printers and various open-source hardware platforms that are free to use. It is the second IoT DIY Center to open this year, following one in Gangnam District, southern Seoul. The Science Ministry plans to open 17 more labs nationwide.
