‘I Am a Singer’ to shoot special show

Public broadcaster MBC’s popular survival program “I Am a Singer” is quietly preparing a special episode to celebrate the opening of its new branch in Sangam-dong, northwestern Seoul, according to local reports yesterday.

As it is a one-off episode, the program is reportedly gathering some legendary singers, who haven’t been revealed yet.

“We are gearing up to shoot a special episode, which is set to air on Sept. 3,” said a member of the production team. “The casting process is being done very secretively, but we won’t let the viewers down.”

The survival show, which launched in 2011, has gained nationwide popularity with rare public appearances by talented vocalists such as Lim Jae-bum and Lee So-ra. The filming process will reportedly finish in early September.
