Kia Motors honored at IDEA Award for vehicle designsKia Motors said yesterday that its Soul multi-purpose vehicle and GT4 Stinger concept car have received accolades at the 2014 IDEA Award, one of the top three design awards in the world.
Korea’s second-largest automaker said the GT4 Stinger won Silver in the transportation design category at the awards, while the Soul received Bronze.
The IDEA Award, which is presented by the Industrial Design Society of America, is regarded as one of the world’s top three design awards along with the iF and Red Dot awards in Germany.
Kia said that the Soul has received prizes at all three design events.
The automaker has been focusing on car design since 2006. It’s effort first gained success in 2009 when the Soul became the first Korean car to win an honor at the Red Dot Award.
