Some Samsung employees, execs return 25% of bonuses
The executives and employees of Samsung Electronics’ mobile communications division have given back a fourth of their biannual bonus, the company said yesterday.The communications division, which deals with the sales of mobile phones, received the highest of the four-level Target Achievement Income assessment for the first half of the year.
But all the employees and executives of the division returned 25 percent of it, the company said.
Samsung did not say why the team returned the bonuses, but the move is seen as a response to the disappointing interim second-quarter performance the company announced last week.
Several billions of won worth of bonuses were reported to have been returned.
