Lee Je-hoon completes military dutyActor Lee Je-hoon, who gained critical acclaim in the film “Architecture 101,” was discharged yesterday from his mandatory military service.
The entertainer was working as a conscripted policeman at the Seoul Metropolitan Police Agency in Jongno District, central Seoul. He was enlisted in October 2012, and then was dispatched there after five weeks of basic military training. A crowd made up of reporters, his fans and officials from his agency waited outside of the building to greet the actor. However, Lee left the scene discretely, exiting on another side.
The actor reportedly did not want to make a big deal over his discharge, as he did not want to cause complications for his fellow police officers going about their daily duties.
Lee So-young, the president of Saram Entertainment, told the press around 10:20 a.m. that the actor had been escorted out of the building by police officials earlier that day.
Later in the day, Lee delivered an apology on his official Facebook page to those who waited for him and thanked them for showing their support.
“Thanks to the fans who waited for me during the time I served my military duty, I was able to complete my service without any trouble,” he wrote. “I’m delighted that I will get to meet you soon through my work, but also very nervous because I don’t want to disappoint you.”
