Choi said his team was taking an uncharted path./ 최 부총리는 새로운 경제팀은 가지 않은 길을 가고 있다고 말했다/ An intensive package of prescriptions may look reasonable given the urgency of rejuvenating an economy mired in low growth, stagnant consumption and a critical lack of entrepreneurship./ 저성장의 수렁에 빠진 경제를 회복해야 하는 긴급성, 침체된 소비, 중요한 기업가 정신의 결핍 등을 감안하면 강도 높은 처방책은 합리적으로 보일 수도 있다/ But his team seems to be confused about the answer,/ 하지만 새로운 경제팀은 해답을 찾기에 혼란스러워 하는 것처럼 보인다/ as it attempts to mobilize public funds, expand fiscal spending and resuscitate the real estate market, while at the same time forcing the corporate sector to spend cash reserves to raise household income./ 민간기금을 동원하려 하고, 재정지출을 확대하려 하고, 부동산 시장을 회생시키려 하고, 동시에 현금 유보금을 가계 소득을 올리는데 지출하도록 기업을 압박하는 것에서 알 수 있듯이/ That would amount to a disparate mix of policies ranging from Keynesian to Neoclassical to socialist economics./ 그야말로 케인지언에서 신고전학파와 사회주의 경제학에 이르기까지 다양한 정책을 이질적으로 혼합하고 있는 것이다/
Needless to say, income growth is best achieved by creating quality jobs./ 말할 필요도 없이 소득 성장은 양질의 일자리를 창출함으로써 가장 잘 달성할 수 있다/ The government’s idea of imposing taxes on companies’ cash reserves is neither effective nor sustainable./ 기업의 현금 유보금에 대해 세금을 부과하겠다는 정부의 아이디어는 효과적이지 않고 지속가능하지도 않다/ The solution lies in easing regulations to beef up conglomerate investment and in recovering the lost entrepreneurial spirit./ 해결책은 대기업의 투자와 잃어버린 기업가 정신을 회복하기 위해서 규제를 완화하는 것이다/ The government also must revitalize the services sector to create more quality jobs./ 정부는 또한 더 많은 양질의 일자리를 창출하기 위해 서비스 부문을 활성화시켜야 한다/ The economy is basically about psychology./ 경제는 기본적으로 심리적인 문제이다/ When all stakeholders are positive about the economy, it really can get better./ 모든 이해 당사자가 경제에 관해서 긍정적일 때 경제가 정말로 더 좋아질 수 있는 것이다/ Choi’s team must first inspire confidence./ 최경환 경제 팀은 먼저 자신감을 불어 넣어줘야 할 것이다/
