Jaguar Korea taking pre-orders for F-Type Project 7 sports car

Jaguar Korea yesterday started pre-orders for its F-Type Project 7, a high-tech sports car set to be released next year.

The new car is a two-person convertible and will be the fastest of all Jaguar vehicles on the market. Production is limited to 250 cars, and only seven are planned to be sold in Korea, according to the company. The price will be announced in September.

The car is named after Jaguar’s seven wins in the 24 Hours of Le Mans race and inspired by the 60-year-old model D-Type. Its 5.0-liter V8 supercharger engine allows the car to speed up from zero to 100 kilometers per hour (62 miles per hour) in just 3.9 seconds. Its body is made of 100 percent aluminum and weighs 1,585 kilograms (3,494 pounds).
