CEO tells g.o.d. he’s sorry

CEO Hong Seung-seong of Cube Entertainment made an official apology to g.o.d. on Thursday.

The move came after Hyun-sik of BTOB, a boy group with Hong’s agency, was accused of copying lyrics from a g.o.d. song.

Hyun-sik wrote “From When and Until When” for Cube singer Hyun-a, which used a line from g.o.d.’s “The Reason Why Opposites Attract.”

The idol singer said it was his way of paying homage to g.o.d., but Kim Tae-woo, a member of the five-member group, said that although he is thankful, he regrets that Hyun-sik did not receive permission from the original singers of the song.

“It was the company’s fault that it didn’t pay enough attention so that the artist could truly deliver what he was meant to do,” said Hong in a statement.

“We admit our fault and we’ll be careful not to repeat the same mistake again.”
