Winner publicizes plans for a debut

Boy band Winner has finally announced its official debut on the music scene.

The group, which gained fame and its name by winning against other trainees at YG Entertainment in a reality TV program, has not yet released any album.

The band’s agency released a teaser video over the weekend that gave details about the group’s debut. This month, Winner will debut in Korea, and in September it will do the same in Japan.

Songs will be released through major online music providers on Aug. 12 and then the offline album will come out two days later.

The group’s Japanese album will come out on Sept. 10. Prior to the record’s release, the band will hold some publicity events in the island nation later this month.

The five-member group will also hold a concert in Japan immediately after debuting there. “Winner 1st Japan Tour 2014” will start in Tokyo on Sept. 11 before moving to Sapporo on Sept. 23.

Winner will have a total of 11 performances in five different Japanese cities including Fukuoka and Nagoya.
