Import car sales for July hit monthly record of 18,112 units
Import car sales in July increased 21.1 percent year-on-year to 18,112 units, a monthly record, the Korea Automobile Importers and Distributors Association said yesterday.The association said the number of new cars registered in July was up 1.7 percent from June, which had a previous monthly record of 17,803 units. For the first seven months of the year, 112,375 units of imports were sold, up 25.6 percent from a year ago.
In July, BMW was the best-selling brand with 3,353 units, four more than Mercedes-Benz. The Volkswagen Tiguan 2.0 TDI BlueMotion was the top-selling model with 906 units, followed by the Audi A6 2.0 TDI (681) and BMW 520d (550).
