Korean engineers create group to advance technology in U.S.

Overseas Korean engineering experts have teamed up to help advance Korea’s technology industry.

On Thursday, the Korea Institute for the Advancement of Technology launched the Korea Technology Advisory Group in San Francisco during the U.S.-Korea Conference on Science, Technology & Entertainment.

The advisory group will assist Korean companies in finding partners abroad, provide advice related to solving technical problems and collaborate with Korean companies on research and development.

Another advisory group was launched in Europe last month during the EU-Korea Conference on Science and Technology 2014 in Vienna, Austria. The European group has 56 members and the U.S. group 106.

“I always wanted to help Korean industries, and I’m happy to help,” said Kim Do-won, a member of the European advisory group. “We will take regional cultures, environmental characteristics and companies’ demands into consideration and operate accordingly.”
