Security company creates technology to reduce noise

FiveGT, a company specializing in facial recognition and security, yesterday introduced Active Noise Control to reduce excess noise in daily life.

To reduce noise complaints between apartment tenants or from nearby industrial sites, Active Noise Control offsets noises by recognizing the noise through a microphone, analyzing the wavelength of the frequency, and emitting a controlling sound with the opposite wavelength to reduce the noise.

Filling apartment walls with noise insulation material is expensive and takes up space, but FiveGT’s active noise control is easier to install and cheaper, the company said. The technology could also be used to reduce the noise of air-conditioners, vacuum cleaners or refrigerators.

“The market for active noise control is growing in developed nations,” said Chung Kyu-taek, CEO of FiveGT. “FiveGT will become the market leader through research and development of related products.”
